Your questions are too complex to answer here, and this question has been asked 100s of times! Most answers are subjective crap. Read this and you’ll get answers from pros to all your questions about HDTV, including plasma vs. LCD and 720p vs. 1080p: http://www.cnet.com/hdtv-world/
For most people, IMHO, plasma is better and it is not worth the extra $$$ to get 1080p – that’s generalizing!

Plasma costs u considerably more electricity and worsen the global warming.

Plasma is more expensive at least double the price of a LCD.

There is not much different between watching a plasma and a LCD TV.

Almost no difference watching a HD or digital LCD TV.
