We have a 50″ Sony SXRD Projection TV in which we paid over $5,000 for including the stand! I love the TV but when your Electricity bill is over $300.00, you need to find ways of cutting down on the utilities. Besides that, this TV needs to have its projection lamp replaced once a year at the cost of over $300! Even at discount places, this lamp is still over $250! Think about replacing that lamp every year. In no time, you would have spent enough to purchase a brand new 40 – 50 inch LCD TV. This Panasonic TV is not only smaller but Star Energy rated, so that should save some on the energy cost.

TV screen can be used as a secondary monitor for your computer. The transformation is especially preferable for viewing movies or games. If you want to surf the net or check an email, the difference between television and screen resolution can become disturbing and tiring for the eyes, even if a LCD with HD.

Why use a TV as a monitor? In need of space, the economy, for a video game or many more reasons… More important is to find out how.

Not to go hunting without a gun, make sure you have around:

* S-video cable (with scart socket), father or father-VGA cable HDMI cable depending on the available ports on your TV.

* Video card that allows dual display and TV output

* Conversion plug adapter

* Video Cable Joint

* Computer.

Here are the steps you have to browse:

* monitor resolution set at the lowest possible level, if possible 640 x 480 or x 800 x 600;

* television monitor and check whether there is a synchronization type output jack / input (S-video or mixed jack);

If there is, connect them with a suitable cable, such as an S-video cable. TV screen performance can be worse if you surf the net or check an email.

I was just wondering what Walmart’s return policy is for televisions bought offline.

If I’m unhappy with the way it looks or something, can I return it for a refund? or?

When you get the TV, it should come with a packing slip. Just take the TV and the slip (this acts as your receipt) to any store and they will refund it to the credit card you used online. Be sure to bring that credit card because they will need to see it (I’m fairly certain of that, anyway).

Ya… So yesterday I went to Best Buy… Lol. My camera quality sucks, so there will be like subs through the whole vid. Lol. Sooooo ya.

To complete this How-To you will need:

A digital-to-analog converter box
A pay-TV service
A TV with a built-in digital tuner
An antenna

Step 1: Understand what’s happening

On February 17th, 2009, television stations must stop using the old method of transmitting a signal to your set, called analog, and start using digital, a new method that offers improved picture quality and, in some cases, more channels. Your TV set may be affected by the switch, but it’s easy to adjust to the digital world.

Step 2: Figure out if your set is digital

First, determine what type of TV you have. If you bought it before 1998, it’s definitely analog. If your set dates to 1998 or later, check your owner’s manual. Sets with built-in digital tuners are in the clear. For analog televisions, you’ve got three options.

Step 3: Buy a converter

One way to receive digital transmissions is to buy a digital-to-analog converter box for your TV set at an electronics store, and follow the manufacturer’s directions to connect and operate it. Depending on the broadcast quality in your area and whether or not you already use one, you may need an antenna along with the converter.

Tip: Government-issued coupons for digital converters are available online at dtv2009.gov.

Step 4: Subscribe to a pay-TV service

The second option is a satellite, cable, or other pay-TV subscription. If you currently subscribe or decide to sign up, your signal should continue without interruption even if your TV doesn’t have a digital tuner or converter box.

Step 5: Buy a digital TV

Your third alternative is to scrap your old analog set and buy a TV with a pre-installed digital tuner. You won’t need a converter or pay-tv service with this option. Just relax, and enjoy your favorite shows. (Your new set might even receive more channels.)
